Neon Trees "Picture Show" Review — 4 out of 5 stars

Neon Trees light up the dance floor again on their new album Picture Show [Get it here].
The quartet shines vibrantly on the follow-up to their debut, Habits. Swaggering electro pop gets hyper-charged with punk energy on the propulsive "Moving in the Dark" and "Teenage Sounds". Frontman Tyler Glenn croons with ballsy bravado that slightly nods to Morrissey but with a charisma and charm all his own. "The Weekend" starts almost like The Shaft theme with the shaky beat before launching into an invigorating hook and slick '80s groove.
The shimmering finale, "I Am the DJ" remains a standout. It's a feel-good closer that leaves off with a fun sense of whimsy. In a day and age ruled by DJs, it's pretty remarkable to see a rock 'n' roll band groove it out just as good.
