New Narnia Gets 2010 Release Date

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, has a release date. The film is scheduled to hit multiplexes on December 10, 2010, returning the franchise to the winter season where many insiders feel it rightfully belongs. The first film, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and The Wardrobe, bowed in December 2005, while last year's The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian was released in May to a less than enthralling box office take.

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader will be released by Fox and Walden Media. Fox stepped in after Disney bowed out of the franchise last December. The studios believe that the franchise is best suited for a winter release date, as evidenced by the poor spring box office reception of the second film.
