Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette launches her new monthly podcast, Conversation with Alanis Morissette, today. The program will feature what Morissette says are "conversations with different authors, artists, leaders, teachers and public and private figures—each of whom have a unique perspective and model based on topics ranging from science, spirituality, philosophy, psychology, feminism, health, wellness, relationships, art, design, activism, neurobiology, music, comedy and more."
The podcast premiere is also synced to the 20th anniversary of the artist's chart-topping album Jagged Little Pill. In commemoration, on October 30th Alanis will release a special 20th anniversary edition of the album, a four-disc set including "remastered audio of the original album plus an entire disc of 10 unreleased demos from the era handpicked by Morissette from her archives," and "a previously unreleased concert from 1995 as well as 2005's Jagged Little Pill Acoustic."
With so much discuss, surely Morissette won't run out of talking points any time soon. Her guest today is Katherine Woodward Thomas, who wrote a book about a concept Gwyneth Paltrow helped popularize: Conscious Uncoupling. Not one to shy away from the issues (remember what "jagged little pill" stands for?), perhaps Cecile Richards will be one of her next.
You can Subscribe to podcast at iTunes.Jagged Little Pill, Collector's Edition with limited-edition journal is available for pre-order via Warner Music, or the 4-CD set at Amazon.
