They’re ‘Back From the Dead’
New Spinal Tap Album Set For June
Spinal Tap has set June 16 as the release date of Back From the Dead, their first record since 1992’s Break Like the Wind. Mixing up studio versions of songs from This Is Spinal Tap (“Hell Hole,” “Cups and Cakes,” “Big Bottom”) with six new jams, the album also features guest appearances by Phil Collen, Keith Emerson, John Mayer and Steve Vai.“This album title says it all. We're back from the dead,” David St. Hubbins said in a press release. “But we weren't dead. But we definitely are back.”
“The studio versions of these songs on this album represent the cosmic maturation of the material, within a digital context,” added Derek Smalls. “Also, they're louder.” Indeed.
