Beyoncé did not pay $1.3 million to hire a maternity ward to give birth!
A representative for the New York hospital where Beyonce checked in to give birth has dismissed reports that Bey and hubby Jay-Z rented out the maternity ward at Manhattan's Lenox Hill Hospital over the weekend when she gave birth to a daughter, named Blue Ivy Carter, on Saturday night on Jan. 7.
A hospital rep said, "The suggestion that the couple paid $1.3 million to rent an entire maternity floor is simply not true. The family is housed in an executive suite at the hospital and is being billed the standard rate for those accommodations. The family does have its own security detail on site. However, the hospital has been and continues to be in control of managing all security at the facility. We have made every effort to ensure minimal disruption to other families experiencing the births of their own children over the past three days."
Yeah, that's not what other families that were making use of the hospital's maternity ward said. Many complained they were denied access to their own children because of Bey + Jay and were vocal to the local papers about the headaches they endured when Blue Ivy was about to make her entrance.
Those reports were also addressed by the rep, who said, "Lenox Hill Hospital takes patient privacy and safety very seriously. And while we congratulate the Carter family on the birth of their child, we value the loyalty of all our patients and always strive to ensure a positive experience, knowing that the birth of a child is a wonderful moment producing memories of a lifetime."
Spin, spin, spin.
Do you believe the hospital's statement on the matter? Or do you think they are on the Beyonce payroll?
