Nights in Rodanthe Scribe Adapting John Grisham - To adapt The Partner, not pen a sappy romance [an error occurred while processing this directive]

Ann Peacock, the busy screenwriter behind last month's weepy Nights in Rodanthe, as well as The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, is changing gears. Peacock has been dispatched with the task of adapting John Grishman's 1997-released novel The Partner for Velocity Entertainment. The book is, of course, a legal drama.

The book focuses on a disgruntled legal eagle who steals a whopping $90 million from his firm and fakes his own death in order to disappear with the loot. His white collar crime becomes complicated when a murder charge comes into play. Oscar-winning producer Bob Chartoff, who worked on Rocky, will produce.
