Now, "Sex" is something that Nikki Sixx and his Mötley Crüe cohorts certainly know a thing or two about.
That's just a universal rock 'n' roll truth. You can't dispute it. Just listen to one album or read a page of The Dirt.
However, it also proved to be the perfect subject for the legendary foursome's 2012 single, aptly titled, "Sex". How did Los Angeles's most dangerous rock band come up with the song, you ask?
"That song was written while we were in Las Vegas," explains Sixx. "I had this riff, and I just kept playing it. I hung out with Tommy, and he created this really cool drum pattern. I started playing with him, and it kept getting sleazier and sleazier. James Michael was there, and we started to work on the melody a little bit. I came up with this idea for 'Sex'. I kept saying, 'This song is so raw. It can't really have a bigger message than what we're really all here for or here because of'. It just came out. It's all about the sex. It magically came together really fast. I believe that song was put together in about a week. Vince came in and did his vocals on it. I think he did two or three takes. It's a great, raw, and dirty Mötley Crüe song."
And, there you have it. "Sex" is all you need to worry about…
