Nile Rodgers Using Outtakes From Late Band Members for New Chic Album

Chic guitarist Nile Rodgers, who has had a career resurgence due to his work with Daft Punk, is reworking outtakes from old music made by his late bandmates to create new songs. Wow. So his late bandmates are contributing from beyond in a way.
"There's stuff I'm emotional about so I don't know if I want them to come out," Rodgers told Mojo. "I'm just finishing the songs, and it's allowed me to play with my bandmates who've passed away, so it's cool. It's been hard for me because it's emotional, but I'll probably be trying to sell a million too."
Rodgers has put together old demos and lost tapes, including two Sister Sled tracks, and collaborated with DJ duo Martinez Brothers. The effort will result in the first Chic record since Chic-Ism, which was released in 1992.
Chic co-founder Bernard Edwards, who died in 1996, and drummer Tony Thompson, who passed in 2003, are worked in as part of the process.
What do you think of this method?
