Noisey.com is sponsoring a show with Theophilus London in Austin next Saturday, August 20th. It'll be the first of a seven-month series which will travel to the UK, Germany, China, Brazil and France before returning to the US. So the artsy city of Austin gets the only US show for a while, in addition to hosting the inaugural show! The show boasts quite a blog-worthy interactive element -- the kids in the crowd and watching at home get to choose what London wears on stage and who he makes shout-outs too, in addition to selecting his backdrop! The kids are in control with this show. Also, fans all over the world can be a part of the "engagements" element, such as picking what he wears or what he performs, as the show will be available on LiveStream that night. Put the power in the hands of the kids. Aw yeah!
Here are more concrete deets: This is a new initiative from Dell and Intel that aims to bring audiences and bands closer than ever before in a series of unique experiences. Performing artists will invite fans to command aspects of the show, from music selection and shout-outs to wardrobe, lighting and set design.
For this first engagement, fans will determine which exclusive remix Theophilus London debuts during his set; send in visual interpretations of his album to accompany the performance; submit names for shout-outs; and even decide the shirt he wears on stage. Leading up to the debut event in Austin, they will determine factors of the performance via polling widgets, Twitter and Facebook. Each Special Engagement will also feature a notable and dynamic host who will serve as a bridge between the artists and their fans. Host: Telli from Ninjasonik.
What do you think of this initiative? What would you pick out for Theophilus London to wear? What shout out would you request him to say?
