The Associated Press reports that Norah Jones, Carly Simon, Scarlett Johansson, Ben Harper, Bob Weir, Steven Stills and Vincent Gallo will all lend their eclectic voices to the soundtrack for a documentary about autism, which was released on iTunes.
The doc, Wretches & Jabberers, follows two men with autism as they travel the world, aiming to change attitudes about their condition. While musician J.Ralph said he signed on to compose the score for the film, he was so forcibly moved by men's story that he wrote another 20 songs, which is the equivalent of a complete soundtrack, and asked some of music's best-known artists to sing them. I love when a clever collaboration like this comes together.
The documentary, directed by Oscar winner Gerardine Wurzburg, will be released in theaters in April in honor of National Autism Awareness Month.
Are you going to check out the soundtrack? I definitely want to check out the film.
