Wed, 22 May 2013 11:50:57
Veteran British musician Trevor Bolder has died. He passed away from pancreatic cancer at the age of 62.
Bolder, who played bass for progressive/art/heavy rock band Uriah Heep, underwent surgery and endured a few rounds of chemotherapy earlier this year.
A statement was posted on the band's website, which read as follows:
"It is with great sadness that Uriah Heep announce the passing of our friend the amazing Trevor Bolder, who has passed away after his long fight with cancer. Trevor was an all-time great, one of the outstanding musicians of his generation, and one of the finest and most influential bass players that Britain ever produced." Amen. You'll get no arguments here.
Bolder was also a part of David Bowie's Spiders From Mars in 1971, appearing on the albums Hunky Dory and Aladdin Sane.
R.I.P., Trevor Bolder.
