YouTube announced its first annual Video Award winners yesterday, in seven categories voted on by the video-sharing site's users. You'll be shocked—shocked!—to learn that one of the honorees, in the "Most Creative" category, was OK Go for their immortal treadmill video, "Here It Goes Again." That video, which has become practically synonymous with YouTube, has been viewed an astonishing 13 million times since it debuted last year.

Also among the award-winners, in the "Best Music" category, was Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Terra Naomi, who is no slouch herself when it comes to YouTube stats—the homemade video for her song "Say It's Possible" has been viewed five million times, which helped her score a recording contract with Island Records.

But perhaps the biggest surprise among the YouTube Video Award winners is the absence of Lonelygirl15, who lost out in the "Best Series" category to Ask a Ninja. Apparently, YouTube fans prefer fake ninjas to fake teenagers.
