Paris Hilton Sentenced to a Year's Probation

Those crafty Hiltons. Hotel heiress (and one time singer) Paris Hilton has avoided jail by pleading guilty to two misdemeanors. Instead of hard time in the slammer, Hilton was slapped (on the wrist) with a year's worth of probation after pleading guilty to drug possession and obstructing an officer, two charges that stemmed from her August 28 arrest in Las Vegas. Hmmm, didn't Paris claim that she didn't know where the drugs came from and that the purse in which the drugs were found wasn't hers? Yes, she sure did make that claim, and she admitted to the judge that she lied when she said the contraband wasn't hers.
The Clark County Detention Center Justice of the Peace Joe Bonaventure told Hilton "The purpose here is to change your conduct. [The Clark County Detention Center] is not the Waldorf-Astoria." Yeah, well, Paris probably doesn't lodge at the Waldorf, since her family owns the Hilton hotels, which means a terrific discount. Duh. Unless of course I don't know who really owns the Waldorf, which could be a Hilton property at this point? Why are we talking about this? Paris got off easy.
Did Paris get off too easy? Did you ever listen to her music? She released an album via Warner Bros. a few years back, which went no to the where!
