Patti Smith is working on turning her National Book Award-winning memoir Just Kids into a screenplay. Smith partnered up with Tony Award-winning playwright John Logan to write the screenplay. They're winners of big awards, aren't they?
The book tells of Smith's friendship with late photographer Robert Mapplethrope in the '60s and '70s. It's also her first time writing for the big screen. Good luck, Patti.
The rock 'n' roll legend is also working on another memoir, writing a mystery novel, penning poetry books and crafting a new album that's due out next year. She is in full creative mode.
Did you read Just Kids? Would you go see the film, if it ever gets made? We say that only because lots of screenplays get written, then commissioned and then stall.
