CartPaul Giamatti, Dustin Hoffman Go for Barney's Version

Famed character actor Paul Giamatti
will star in Barney's Version, an indie drama based on Mordercai Richler's final novel. The film will begin shooting
in late August at various locations, such as Rome, Quebec, and New York.
Dustin Hoffman has also accepted a starring role in the film.
The title character, played by Giamatti, is one who has lead a reckless life, having been married three times. He is suspected of foul play after the mysterious disappearance of his best friend. Hoffman will portray a retired cop who is also the father of
Giamatti's Barney.
Richard J. Lewis has been hired to direct the film,
while Robert Lantos of
Eastern Promises will produce
through Serendipity Point.
