Paula Abdul's Search is Over

After reports of negotiations last week, ex-American Idol judge Paula Abdul won't be a part of ABC's revamp of the classic, 1980s talent competition series Star Search. Word is that Abdul and ABC couldn't come to terms on a deal on a salary for the "star." That's the same reason that Abdul walked out on Idol, easily the hottest show on television. She reportedly turned down a cool $5 million and elected to walk. Abdul's withdrawal from contention casts a shadow over the fate of the show, since the network's interest in airing the show was linked to Abdul's participation. Given the market saturation of talent competition reality series, ABC was hesitant to overpay for a judge.
Do Paula Abdul's recent actions, with American Idol and Star Search show her to be a bit greedy? Do you think Abdul should have stayed with Idol? Do you think money shouldn't have stopped her from making her way on her own reality series?
