Paula Abdul to Return to TV

We may be "cold-hearted snakes" –natch—to say this, but we thought we were rid of Paula Abdul forever (your girl) when she parted ways with American Idol after eight successful seasons, where she served as a judge since the show's inception, serving as the good cop to Simon Cowell's delightfully more interesting bad cop. Rumors swirled that Abdul exited the show over money issues during contract negotiations, an allegation she denied. Does anyone remember when she was commenting on a contestant's performance and started critiquing two songs, when only one was performed? We thought Abdul was burnt out on judging talent then, but apparently she's not. She is in discussions with ABC for the network's Star Search re-do.
Star Search was a proto-Idol, with Ed McMahon having served as host. In the new, revamped version, Abdul would likely participate as a judge of some sort, much like she did on Idol. ABC refused to comment.
Rumors also abound that Fox is eyeing Abdul as a judge for X-Factor, which is Cowell's show, scheduled for production next year.
