Pearl Jam, Kraftwerk, 2Pac Are Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Nominees

Pearl Jam, Kraftwerk, and 2Pac have been nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class of 2017. Other nominees include Depeche Mode, Janet Jackson, Jane's Addiction, and other superstars. The announcement was made this morning.
Pearl Jam and 2Pac both scored nominations on their first year of eligibility, while Depeche Mode, Jane's Addiction, Joan Baez, Bad Brains, Steppenwolf, and Electric Light Orchestra all received their first nominations. Inductees will be decided by over 800 voters made up of artists, historians, and music industry professionals.
The inductees will be announced in December, and the award ceremony is set to take place in April at Brooklyn, New York's Barclays Center.
"In order for an artist to be eligible for the Hall of Fame, their first recording must have been released at least 25 years ago. Among the eligible acts who failed to receive a nomination for 2017: The Smiths, Nine Inch Nails, The Cure, Blur, Smashing Pumpkins, PJ Harvey, Soundgarden, Hole, Tom Petty (solo), Bon Jovi, Mariah Carey, Sting, Kylie Minogue, Tracy Chapman, Alice in Chains, Phish, The Meters, Warren Zevon, Los Lobos, Jethro Tull, The Moody Blues, De La Soul, and Sinead O'Connor," explains Consequence of Sound.
