Pearl Jam's Publicist Says Comments About Band's Future Were "Lost in Translation"

Pearl Jam's publicist cleared up concerns about the band's future, after comments made by frontman Eddie Vedder last week in Portugal lead to rumors of the band's imminent demise and indefinite hiatus. The publicist told Seattle Weekly that the comments made by Vedder at the Optimus Alive festival in Portugal last week were probably "lost in translation." The singer told the crowd at the July 11 show that it was going to be PJ's last show for a long time. But the publicist said that Vedder was merely talking about their current live run was coming to a close.
The rep said, "He says that at the end of all tours, because the tour has ended. The remark may have gotten a little lost in translation."
Is this spin? Or were Eddie V's words taken out of context?
