The New York Times is reporting that Pee-Wee Herman will head to Broadway later this year, with his own, six-week show at the Stephen Sondheim Theater. The Pee-Wee Herman Show will kick off this October.
57-year-old Paul Reubens, who plays the cult character Pee-Wee, is thrilled about his Broadway run. "I can hardly believe it. Honestly, I've been pinching myself," Mr. Reubens told the paper. Pinching himself? Wait, didn't he get caught doing that in an adult movie theater back in 1991? I kid, I kid, since P-W Herman is one of my all-time favorite characters and I'm already scoping out tickets for this.
Reubens revived Pee-Wee this January for a short run on a stage in Los Angeles. The success of that show lead to his Broadway production. Pee-Wee enjoyed a Saturday morning variety show aimed at kids, as well as one of the best movies ever, Pee Wee's Big Adventure.
Did you watch Pee-Wee's PlayhouseI did religiously! I am so buying tickets to this!
