With a fresh dose of buzz from their appearances at Austin's South by Southwest music conference, Swedish popsters Peter Bjorn and John are embarking on a North American tour, including a stop at the Coachella Festival on April 29th. "We've got a good position now in the States," frontman Peter Moren told NME.com. "The record's out and it's doing well, so we're trying to build on that."
"Doing well" might be an understatement. Mainly on the strength of the song "Young Folks" (a.k.a. "that insanely catchy whistling song"), PB&J have garnered such unusually large amounts of indie hype that one enterprising blogger even launched a website called Stop Peter Bjorn and John. After just 11 days, the anonymous blogger admitted defeat.
Opening for PB&J on all of their North American dates (except Coachella) is another buzzworthy trio, British electro-rockers Fujiya & Miyagi.
