The California Supreme Court turned down an appeal filed by music producer Phil Spector's attorneys, who requested a review of his 2009 murder conviction, marking the second time this year that his attorneys have been rejected in their attempt to overturn his conviction.
The producer, who originated the "Wall of Sound" technique, was convicted of killing actress Lana Clarkson after she was found shot dead in the foyer of his home in 2003. Spector became well known in the press for his wild and crazy coif. Al Pacino has signed on to play the producer in an HBO film about his legal problems.
Spector's attorneys are looking for a third trial for their client. His first trial, back in 2007, was declared a mistrial after jurors deadlocked.
