The thenewno2 hit the trail along with their rock peers and set out to conquer the blazing heat of a Coachella stage last weekend. We wanted to see how the first timers would handle the experience, so we gave drummer Oli Hecks a camera to document their journey. Check out his photo diary below, and may the force be with you.
Words by Oli Hecks:
I love seeing these on the way to the desert. There should be more of them out there. They are very apt to a lot of what we are saying on the album.
Down time after we got there. Being in a band is really hard...... Not so many windmills here.
I took this panoramic on my iPhone when the Yeah Yeah Yeahs were playing and the sun was starting to set behind the mountains. They were one of the bands I wanted to see...and I did. They rocked it and are great live!
I saw this sticker of our logo on a lamp post. Nice to see people helping spread the word.
Dhani's 'Jedi Rock' back in the trailers pre show.
The band back stage just before we went on. Left to right: Jon, Oli, Jason, Thorunn, Dhani, Jeremy.
Jeff Lynne came to watch us play. We were really flattered and honoured. Check out his t-shirt.
The crew wheeling out my drums. Getting ready to go on.
The crowd, just before we went on. We had a good turn out and were really happy about it. - Photo by Juan Perez Arjona

I think this was when Dhani asked "Does anyone like fish sticks?" haha
This was the end of the set and we all had a great show.
