Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason once spent 12 dollars on his very first kit at a London shop called Foote's. The store, which opened its doors in 1920, was thisclose to going out of business when Foote swooped in and saved the day. He provided the necessary funds and the cash infusion needed to keep the store open.
He said he has "great memories" of shopping there as a kid, according to VH1 Classic Radio.
He owns a stake but will not participate in the daily operations of the establishment.
What a generous thing Nick Mason did!
