Pitbull is taking the gentlemanly route regarding the legal dust up he's involved in courtesy of troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan. In his smash hit "Give Me Everything," co-written by Ne-Yo, Pit rhymes, "Hustlers move aside / So I'm tiptoeing / Keep flowin'/I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan."

Lohan, who is in desperate need of an image rehab, claims the statements are defamatory and destined to cause irreparable harm. As if she hasn't done a good enough job of making herself unemployable by her own actions. Come on, Linds. You have no one to blame but yourself.

The actress is currently seeking an injunction to stop the broadcast of the song, to which Pitbull responded!

He has been reported as saying, "I was very surprised when I found out about the lawsuit… When I mentioned Lindsay Lohan in the record it was really a positive message… If you play in the park, if you from the neighborhood, when they say you got it locked, you got it locked up, that means you run that area…"

He continued, "I didn't look to defamate (sic), degrade or hurt someone's career. For me mentioning it… on the number one record in the world… I thought it would be helping someone's career and keeping them relevant." We are going to have to agree with Pit on that one. Lindsay Lohan should pay him a fee for mentioning her in the song.

Pit concluded the interview by asking the former actress to be his date to the MTV VMAs on Sunday, where he's set to perform the song.

Linds, being mentioned in a major hit song helps your "career" more than it hurts it.

Should Lindsay Lohan drop the lawsuit and attend the VMAs on Pitbull's arm?
