Paranormal Activity 4 begins officially possessing theaters across the United States tomorrow, October 19, 2012. In honor of our favorite fright flick this year, we decided to come up with a playlist devoted to possession.

Check out our "Possession" Playlist in honor of Paranormal Activity 4 by ARTISTdirect.com editor in chief Rick Florino below!

    Possession Playlist

    Metallica "Enter Sandman"

Nothing fits Paranormal Activity better than "Enter Sandman". It's a movie franchise based on fear of falling asleep and the "things" that happen while you're under. Metallica's "Enter Sandman" captures that feeling better than any other song in history. In addition to being one of the greatest rock songs of all-time, it's one of the scariest. Plus, that legendary riff was written by true horror expert Kirk Hammett, whose brand new book Too Much Horror Business - The Kirk Hammett Collection is the ultimate tome on the genre…

    Slayer "Spirit in Black"

This razor sharp thrash classic from Seasons in the Abyss rips from the inside out. It'd be perfect for Paranormal Activity 4's more intense moments. Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman's riffing is some of the most sinister ever here and Tom Araya sounds chillingly evil. Let's not forget that pummeling percussive violence from Dave Lombardo. The film's coven certainly knows more than one "Spirit in Black".

    Pantera "By Demons Be Driven"

Iconic Pantera and Down frontman Philip Anselmo is another horror aficionado whose knowledge of the genre proves immense. This schizophrenic monster from Vulgar Display of Power is as demonic as it gets with a jarring squeal of Dimebag Darrell's guitar and Anselmo's immortal roar. With claws out, it takes up residence inside like a demon and never leaves.

    Danzig "Posession"

With Danzig's unmistakable baritone and some sick backing vocals from Metallica mainman James Hetfield, "Possession" pretty much sums it up in the title, and that's why it's perfect for Paranormal Activity.

    Rob Zombie "Demonoid Phenomenon"

Even though "Dragula" gets some screen time in Paranormal Activity 4, this ripper from Rob Zombie's classic debut, Hellbilly Deluxe, hits with an infectious stomp and a massive hook that'll possess you. It's Zombie at his best…

    Ghost "Prime Mover"

Take the most evil aspects of Led Zeppelin and The Beatles and update them with a gritty intelligent dystopic view of religion, and you've got Sweden's Ghost. They're one of the most thrilling bands to emerge this decade, and they know darkness quite well. "Prime Mover" could be an apt description for Paranormal Activity's resident demon Toby, and it'd work with every movement of the flick.
