Prince has been ordered to pay $4 million to a fragrance company after the singer screwed them over on a fragrance deal, according to New York Daily News. Prince had agreed to lend his name and likeness to a scent called 3121, which is also the name of his 2006 album.
However, the singer failed to market and promote the fragrance as promised, including his agreement to work it in his Minneapolis hometown and on The Oprah Winfrey Show. He also tried to disassociate his name and likeness from the bottle.
The company, Revelations Fragrance & Cosmetic, spent nearly $4 million on marketing efforts, which Prince must reimburse them for, according to a judge who ruled on the case in NYC.
