"Gangnam Style" has served Psy well, both commercially and culturally! Psy, the singer who has popularized the dance style with his goofy song, has earned one of the top honors in his native South Korea.
Officials in South Korea are handing the rapper the Ok-gwan Order of Cultural Merit.
The award is given to those who give "outstanding meritorious services" to the arts. Psy is exposing the world to K-Pop, so he does deserve this honor.
A representative from the Culture Ministry said, "Psy has been chosen to be decorated for not only being a long-term artist, but also for advertising Gangnam widely and increasing the world's interest in Korea."
Do you like "Gangnam Style" or are you over it?
