Puff Daddy announced today that the Bad Boy Records family will reunite for a special concert to honor the late Notorious B.I.G. The show takes place at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, on May 20th, the day that would have marked Notorious B.I.G.'s 44th Birthday. The "One Night Only" concert will host a roster of the labels biggest artists, including Faith Evans, Mase, Lil Kim, the Lox, 112, Total, Mario Winans, and French Montana. In addition to these performers, Puff Daddy has brought along a couple special guests--Mary J. Blige and Jay-Z--to help celebrate the evening.
"This isn't just another concert--this is hip-hop history," Puff Daddy said in a press release. "The Bad Boy Family includes some of the biggest names in music and songs that helped define a whole generation of music. Also, we are celebrating one of the greatest of all time—Notorious B.I.G. This will be a night to remember. I can't wait to see you all there."
Recently, Faith Evans discussed her posthumous collaborative album with her late husband B.I.G., The King & I, comparing the sound to Natalie and Nat King Cole's posthumous duets album, Unforgettable. Evans also hinted at a live show that would use hologram technology to bring the Notorious B.I.G. to the stage, as has been done for Tupac Shakur and Whitney Houston. In the radio interview Evans said the album was in the "finishing stages" and should be out by September.
Last year, Puff Daddy reunited the Family for a performance at the B.E.T. Awards.
