Although Pustki translates to "void" or "emptiness" in Polish, what stands out about the Warsaw-based quartet that employs the word as their name is their substance: a clarity of vision and message not usually found in normal SXSW fare. They take the '90s alt-rock genre where it should have gone, crafting pop songs that are rhythmic and meditative. And somehow their music's somber quiet is heightened by the band's trademark layers of feedback squeal.
