Fine Points Videos
The finer points of this Bay Area band are discussed.
Fine Points, a new project featuring members of San Francisco psych band Sleepy Sun, released their debut LP, Hover, on Dine Alone Records.
Evan Reiss and Matt Holliman of the band decided to Take Aim.
The band trades in Sleepy Sun's aggressive, buzzing guitars for a more dreamy, crystalline sound. Very much a product of the West Coast, their new album captures the energy of the Pacific's crashing waves, the peaceful vibe of the giant redwoods, and the warmth of the hazy California sun. Live, they've been sharing stages with artists like White Fence, Kevin Morby, Mikal Cronin, and Morgan Delt.
Didn't that description just transport you to a sandy beach? Yeah it did.
Twitter-size your bio -- your choice of 140 words or characters, if you want to get technical-- and tell us everything we need to know!
We're Santa Cruz transplants with a love for [Black] Sabbath, The ocean, and Classic Submarine Sandwiches. Let's never stop the jams, ok? The record, Hover, was recorded in Oakland, California and it sounds like a sexy dream involving puddles and loads of aliens.
If you were not doing music, you would be...
In the NBA or catchin' a wave.
Any non-music hobbies, talents or skills?
Dogs, ice cream, and literature. Keith Richards.
Pick one song on your record and share a writing or recording story. Something intimate, that you haven't told anyone else (or at least a bunch of writers or journalists) and that which puts us in the moment with you.
'The Painted Fox': A bank teller shows you that she can communicate with ghosts. You believe her. Set sail for Big Sur and, before you know it, a rat crawls on your head while you're sleeping.. ....wow.
Finish this sentence: Fine Points is the artist that...
Eats al pastor tacos and never puts down their geetars. Ever.
