Back in April, the news came down the wire — Instagram — that Queens of the Stone Age had finished mixing their new album. Now it's a long process from mixing to your prefered streaming service. There is prepping for rollout, delivery, a small, riddle-loving, purple troll named Fred, and a variety of other steps we don't even begin to understand, so it's no surprise that there isn't a release date as of yet. However, over on the QOTSA website, you can find some new teasers.
Found inside an interactive vintage television, visitors can click through different channels and listen to some intense static. Around the the old TV there are a variety of stickers with words like "Reclaim Everything", "Mumbo Jumbo", "1976 Evil" and "Tutti Frutti", which really could mean anything, but the internet is currently buzzing that they might be song titles.
The band are expected to return with a new single this month. Last week a radio station DJ tweeted that a new track would drop "in two weeks." Homme previously said the new album was "uptempo," while comparing it to "a panther in the trees leaping out of the darkness."
There has still been no announcement as to the what the title of the new album will be, nor when the record will be dropped. We will keep you updated as more news comes in.
