R.E.M. have split, but it's not the end of the band, at least in terms of recorded output!

An upcoming retrospective collection is due and the set was announced by Warner Bros. following the band's revelation of their breakup on Wednesday.

Amazon has a Nov. 15 listing for Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage: 1982-2011. The title is inspired by a quote guitarist Peter Buck once gave when describing the band.

The compilation release was already in the works before the group's decision to split. It will include a few new songs recorded earlier this year.

Are you bummed that R.E.M. have split? What is your favorite R.E.M. song of all time?
