Ra Ra Riot Release Video for "Water"

In advance of its forthcoming album, Need Your Light, indie dance rockers Ra Ra Riot today released a new video for its song, "Water." The stirring single has been getting some love from Zane Lowe's Beats1, KCRW, and KEXP, among other stations, and is an anthemic, beats-driven track produced by Vampire Weekend's Rostam, who also conceived of and co-directed the video with help from Josh Goleman (Alabama Shakes, Skrillex, and Gary Clark Jr).
According to frontman Wes Miles, the video is about "a weary hitchhiker [portrayed by Miles] coming out of the desert toward Los Angeles," and was "shot anamorphic in one day in Joshua Tree and L.A."
The band continues in a statement over at Tumblr: "This video fits right into our whole (unintentional) MO for making this record - working with old friends for whom we have a ton of respect and, perhaps even more importantly, trust. Plus, Rostam had a hand in writing, recording, and producing the song (Water), and so it makes sense that he was involved with both the concept and execution of the video. Hopefully the result is a testament to the burrito fun we had making it."
Need Your Light will be released February 19, 2016 via Barsuk Records, and reportedly sees the band "getting back to their house party roots without abandoning the more heady soundscapes they explored with 2013's Beta Love." The band will tour in support starting March 2 at The Hollow in Albany, NY, and tickets are available now, and Need Your Light is available for pre-order at iTunes.
