Radiohead have planned a world tour that begins in May. The series of dates see the band co-headlining several festivals including Spain's Primavera Sound, Japan's Summersonic Festival, and Québec's Osheaga Music and Arts Festival. The band have also announced several arena shows in the U.S. They'll play New York's Madison Square Garden July 26th and 27th, and Los Angeles's Shrine Auditorium August 4th and 8th.
The tour will see Radiohead playing dates at Reyjkavik, Iceland's Secret Solstice (6/17) and Berlin, Germany's iteration of Lollapalooza (9/11). The tour consists of a total of twenty-two dates, and comes with a decisive note on the band's website, which reads, "These are all the headline shows that the band will play in 2016." The tour comes to a close in October with two dates at Mexico City, Mexico's Palacio de los Deportes (10/3, 10/4).
There is no word on a new Radiohead album at this time.
Back in January fans began speculating on the likelihood of Radiohead releasing new music this year when it became known that the band had registered a new company, Dawn Chorus LLP. Previously, Radiohead had also established companies before springing surprise releases In Rainbows and The King of Limbs.
Last year, the band's guitarist Jonny Greenwood, and drummer Philip Selway discussed the recording process behind their forthcoming 9th studio LP in separate interviews.
In addition to the tour dates announced, the band has shared a new piece of artwork on Facebook and Twitter.
