Radiohead Signs To XL Outside the U.S.

While the rumor mill hasn't stopped churning since Radiohead suddenly released In Rainbows online, Billboard.com has confirmed one detail: a deal with XL Recordings for territories outside North America. Specifics are unclear as of yet, but some insiders have suggested that the band will release a physical Rainbows CD around the same time as its deluxe, $84 "discbox" version. Which—stop drooling—is a little over a month away.
Six Degrees of Devendra Banhart connection aside, the XL contract is no surprise considering the label's success with Thom Yorke's electro-shocked solo album, 2006's The Eraser. As reported last week, a U.S. deal with Dave Matthews' ATO label is expected soon.
