Richard Edwards Talks Top Ten Music Memories

Richard Edwards is a songwriter of note. With his band Margot and the Nuclear So and So's he established himself as a creative force, cutting a path of individualism that invites listeners in. Now the songwriter is preparing to release a solo album, Lemon Cotton Candy Sunset; an album of extraordinary beauty — made all the more powerful by the story behind it's creation.
Surviving a painful illness, and the heartbreak following divorce Edwards composed this collection of tunes that looks to the horizon for light and hope. What he delivers is an album of perfectly articulated tracks that explore feelings of isolation, but also of unity with the bigger beliefs... and the beauty at the center of things, even pain. It's an adult album that relies on an audience's intelligence and willingness for something new — and in that regard it's a success — because these are also some of the most accessible tracks of Edward's career.
ARTISTdirect caught up with Richard Edwards, and invited him to share some insights and memories around the music that informed his songwriting DNA.
