Rick Schroeder has certainly escaped the child star curse. The blonde actor, who made his mark as a kid in the '80s sitcom Silver Spoons and went onto to achieve a steady stream of adult success on riveting boob tube dramas like NYPD Blue and 24, is adding another film to his resume. The actor, who no longer goes by the name "Ricky," will appear in the indie drama Blood Done Sign My Name.
The picture is based on Tim Tyson's true story novel, which he wrote as part of his master's thesis, about a black Vietnam vet murdered in Oxford, North Carolina in 1970 and what happens in the aftermath of the slaying. Schroeder will portray Reverend Vernon Tyson.
Darrin Henson is also in the cast, as Eddie McCoy. Jeb Stuart will direct. The film is currently in production in North Carolina.
