Newly out-of-the-closet pop star Ricky Martin will release his memoir, Me, on November 2. The book, which Martin referred to as a spiritual journey for himself, will be released simultaneously in English and Spanish under Celebra, an imprint of the Penguin Group devoted to books by Latino celebrities.
According to a statement, Me will delve into "his early childhood, his experiences in the renowned boy band Menudo, the challenges of increased fame that came with the "Livin' La Vida Loca" phenomenon, his continued growth as a musician and his unique personal connection with millions of fans around the world." Ricky has had a charmed life, so it should be interesting to read about things he dealt with, especially being a gay man in the spotlight and trying to maintain some level of privacy.
The book will obviously also focus on how the singer came to terms with his homosexuality, becoming a father to twin boys and his work with children around the world.
In addition to Me, Martin is scheduled to issue a new album -currently without a title- in 2011. He is surely a busy man. La vida still loco.
Do you want to read Martin's book? I definitely do.
