Earlier this year, Rihanna was honored by Harvard University for her humanitarian work — which is as far-reaching and effective as her creative output. One of her many concerns is the Diamond Ball — which will be held in New York City on September 14th this year.
The fundraising gala raises money for the Clara Lionel Foundation, an organization that Rihanna founded in tribute to her grandparents, that focuses on funding "innovative and effective education and health programs." 2017 will be the third year the singer has held the event, and she's just announced no less than Dave Chappelle as the host, and Kendrick Lamar as a performer amongst the entertainment of the night.
"I'm thrilled that the incomparable Dave Chappelle will kick things off as the official host of this year's Diamond Ball and Kendrick Lamar will take the stage for an unforgettable performance," said Rihanna, announcing details of the gala. "I'm proud of the Clara Lionel Foundation's significant impact in the world over the years and deeply grateful for the continued support and commitment to advancing our mission."
Past Diamond Balls have featured live sets from Rihanna and Lionel Richie, as well as hosts Brad Pitt and Kevin Hart.
Aside from her humanitarian work Rhi Rhi continues to be hard at work. Check out her sultry collaboration "Wild Thoughts" with DJ Khaled from his upcoming album, Grateful.
