Rihanna's world tour behind her latest LP Anti was originally scheduled to begin later this month. But news today was announced via Billboard that the tour has been postponed until March. The news follows the singer's Grammy performance cancellation due to bronchitis.
Rihanna's reps told Billboard that "production delays" are the cause of postponement.
Eight dates have been rescheduled: her shows in San Diego, San Jose, Phoenix, Houston, Austin, Dallas, New Orleans, and Atlanta have been pushed back to May dates.
The tour will now begin on March 12th at Jacksonville Arena. The tour samples a smorgasbord of North American and European arenas and stadiums, including Brooklyn's Barclays Center, Toronto's Air Canada Center, and London's Wembley Stadium.
Rihanna's tour promises to be one of the big ones this year. Accompanying acts include R&B singer The Weeknd, and rappers Big Sean and Travis Scott. Travis Scott will join Rihanna for her North American dates, while The Weeknd and Big Sean will lend their support for the European leg because this is not your run of the mill tour.
Rihanna's eighth studio album, Anti, was released last month and has since received a platinum certification by the RIAA.Hear "Work [ft. Drake]"
