Grammy-winning singer Rob Thomas don't wanna be lonely no more, according to his biggest hit's lyrics. He won't have to be on March 30, when his new digital EP, Someday, is released exclusively on iTunes. The four-song collection will then be available at all other digital platforms beginning April 6.
Someday will feature four previously unreleased songs, including a live version of his numero uno smash, "Someday," from his 2009 album cradlesong, neither of which are as popular (or as fun to shake your ass to) as "Lonely No More." A little factoid for you: when "Someday" hit #1 on the pop charts, Thomas surpassed Pink for the most-ever #1 hits on the "Adult Pop Songs" charts by a solo artist. Now Pink's tattooed, bad-boy hubby has a reason to kick Thomas' clean-cut ass!
Thomas will also be interviews on April 8 as part of the New York Times’ “Times Talks at The Times Center.” Billed “A Conversation About Music,” the event will see the multi-talented tunesmith discussing the many facets of his extraordinary career, from his work with matchbox twenty to his collaborations with such icons as Carlos Santana, Mick Jagger and Willie Nelson For complete details and ticket information, point and click at: www.nytimes.whsites.net/talk/index.php. Who'd a thunk that when matchbox twenty's "I Wanna Push You Around" was a smash hit that its singer would go on to enjoy this type of success? Props to you, Bobby!
Thomas is also a do-gooder, slated to perform live at Atlanta’s upcoming Dow Live Earth Run for Water, the largest worldwide water initiative on record to help combat the global water crisis. The show is scheduled for April 18 and the Dow Live Earth Run for Water is a series of 6km run/walks – the average distance many women and children walk every day to get water – taking place over the course of 24 hours in 192 countries, featuring concerts and water education activities to ignite a massive global movement to help solve the water crisis. Funds raised from the events will benefit Global Water Challenge, a coalition of non-profit organizations working to bring clean, safe drinking water to millions of people worldwide.
Do you wish Thomas would go back to matchbox twenty or do you prefer his solo work?
