Robert De Niro and Others Named to Hall of Fame

Julie Andrews, Robert De Niro, Judi Dench, Robert Duvall, Kirk Douglas, Morgan Freeman, Gene Hackman, Olivia de Havilland, Hal Holbrook, Anthony Hopkins, James Earl Jones, Angela Lansbury, William H. Macy, Maggie Smith, and Meryl Streep will all be inducted into the Actors Hall of Fame.

The AHOF honors career achievements in theater, film, and television. Nomination criteria include things like peer recognition, awards, humanitarian contributions to the arts and education, and an advancement in the craft of acting. Members of the board of electors, consisting of dramatic arts educators from more than 100 colleges and universities, vote on the honorees. The new class joins the 38 charter members.
