Oh Josh Groban, you are like a fine wine. Just wonderful!
Carrying on Robert Mondavi's tradition of coupling fine wine with the arts, Robert Mondavi Winery is partnering with multi-platinum musician Josh Groban on a series of collaborations in the coming year.
Groban's performance at the Napa Valley winery on July 21 closed the 43rd annual Robert Mondavi Winery Summer Concert Series and marked the beginning of this new collaboration. A portion of the proceeds from Groban's closing performance were donated to his foundation, Find Your Light, which is dedicated to enriching the lives of young people through arts, education and cultural awareness.
"Margrit Mondavi started this tradition of inviting visitors to the Napa Valley to slow down the rush of their daily lives and enjoy great wine, great food and great music," noted Carl Jaeger, Estate Director at Robert Mondavi Winery. "An artist with such immense talent as Josh, who shares this vision of an enriched life, helps us to communicate that message around the globe."
As Josh begins writing and recording his next album next month, he will work closely with Robert Mondavi Winery's Director of Winemaking, Genevieve Janssens, and Winery Chef, Jeff Mosher, to further unite the Winery's values of wine, food, and the arts. They will collaborate on a yet-to-be-named Napa Valley wine, made at Robert Mondavi Winery and scheduled for release next year. In addition, the winery intends to create promotional programs and materials such as special in-store displays featuring Robert Mondavi wines and a new Groban album, to be released early next year. Downloads of Groban's newest singles will be made available through in-store Robert Mondavi Winery displays, online and through mobile applications.
"I am honored to be partnering with the Robert Mondavi Winery," Groban says. "Fine wine and the arts are a natural pairing, so collaborating with the people at Mondavi to promote their wines and my upcoming album feels like an organic and inspired endeavor."
