In a recent interview, Robert Plant discussed his upcoming album, Carry Fire, due out October 13. The album features Plant performing with a musical group called the Sensational Space Shifters, with whom Plant recorded 2014's lullaby...And The Ceaseless Roar, and with whom he plans a worldwide tour in 2018.

Plant described the album as, "...A little wild, a bit crazy in concept. We've got a kind of communal drift, which has stayed with us no matter what other projects we do. It's like a brotherhood, really." Plant first worked with the Sensational Space Shifter back in 2002.

Carry Fire is available for pre-order now on the Robert Plant website. With the pre-order, fans can download the first two single off the album, "The May Queen" and "Bones of Saints". The two songs are topical political statements in today's wild world. One line, "A wall and not a fence" is a direct quote from President Donald Trump. Plant says, ""When he first said that, I thought, "Oh, fancy that, where have we heard that before?" Everyone with a certain neurosis has said [it], from the first caveman with a stick to the Great Wall of China and on and on."

This year marks the tenth anniversary of Led Zeppelin's 2007 London reunion concert. Plant recalled, "It was magnificent. We hit a home run that night, which is something that we were really fearful of." In the context of his new album with the Sensational Space Shifters, and not his longtime Zeppelin supporting cast, Plant added, "...I've shifted around over the years. That way, I keep interested and excited in what I do."

For those hoping to see another Led Zeppelin reunion, don't get your hopes up. The group recently met to discuss a lawsuit over the writing credits for "Stairway to Heaven" but Plant was less than enthusiastic, saying, "What was once a steady date becomes a cup of coffee. That's basically how it turned out, a cup of coffee from time to time. But nothing intimate."
