After a few days of speculation in the press about his health after the cancellation of four Florida performances, it's been confirmed that comedian and actor Robin Williams will have heart surgery. The ailing 57-year-old Williams will have to undergo an aortic valve replacement, which caused him to postpone the eight day Broadway run of his solo show, Weapons of Self-Destruction. The Broadway stint was to be part of Williams' current 80-city tour. The rest of the tour dates have been pushed back to the fall; exact dates have yet to be rescheduled, including the NYC run.
Williams' representative released a statement from the actor that read: "I'm so touched by everyone's support and well wishes. This tour has been amazing fun and I can't wait to get back out on the road after a little tune-up."
