Girls rule and they can be rad nerds, too! Nerdy is cool in 2015, right?! It sure is.
Swedish pop star Robyn is doing her unique part for female empowerment by launching Tekla, a tech festival just for girls. It'll be held on April 18 at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm. Robyn will debut her festival for girls ages 11-18 in partnership with Google and Spotify.
Around 200 girls participate in hands-on workshops on things like game development, 3D printing and modeling, virtual reality, programming, internet security, digital music creation, interactive art, wearables design and more! Ooh! Sounds so brainy and fun. Girls can like tech, too.
It will be the inspo for girls who want to pursue tech careers.
So. FREAKING. Awesome.
"I thought of KTH's motto 'science and art' and wanted to do something to inspire girls who are curious about technology, and bring attention to the fact that too few women apply to KTH's programs. Tekla is a festival for girls which encourages them to get involved in the future of technology through what I believe will be a fun and imaginative environment," Robyn, who is cute and blonde, and way talented, said.
There will be a Robyn dance party held, as well.
Any tech-loving girls out there?
