Roger Daltrey Once Decked Pete Townshend

The Who reissued their classic album, Quadrophenia this week, which caused guitarist Pete Townshend to talk about the fisticuffs that took place during the recording process. Making an album is harder than you'd think.
Townshend told England's The Times that vocalist Roger Daltrey punched him and knocked him out. Why? The guitarist was diddling with the final mixes, and had gotten drunk, so Daltrey, who had been waiting for five hours, got pissed and said he was going to bounce. Townshend tried to block his path and spit on the singer, and that's when Daltrey cleaned his clock.
Aside from what had to be a nasty shiner, the guitarist said he had temporary amnesia, to boot! "When I came round an hour later, my memory was gone for two days. He's a one-punch man Roger." Ouchy!
