Roger Waters Shares Details Of His First Album In 25 Years

Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters will release his new album, Is This The Life We Really Want?, on June 2nd. The record, which is his first since 1992's Amused to Death, was produced and mixed by Nigel Godrich, known for his work with Radiohead and Paul McCartney. The album will include 12 new songs that contain, "unflinching commentary on the world and uncertain times."
Waters plays bass and guitar, as well as sings on the new record, which also features contributions from Godrich (arrangement, sound collages, keyboards, guitar), Gus Seyffert (bass, guitar, keyboards), Jonathan Wilson (guitar, keyboards), Joey Waronker (drums), Roger Manning (keyboards), Lee Pardini (keyboards) and Lucius (vocals) with Jessica Wolfe and Holly Proctor.
Details about the album still remain rather scarce, however, we do know Is This the Life We Really Want? tune "Wait for Her" was inspired by an English translation of "Lesson From the Kama Sutra (Wait for Her)" by the late Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish. Check out the full tracklist below.
The album will be released on vinyl LP, CD, digitally, with pre-order beginning on Friday. Waters is an music icon and any new material from him is an exciting prospect that is sure to get fans listening back to his classic material.
