Blue-eyed soul star Sam Smith, our major crush, covers the new ish of Rolling Stone and in the feature, he spoke about being called the male version of Adele, his weight and his first heartbreak. All interesting topics from an interesting man!
The openly gay singer is over being called the male version of Adele, his fellow powerhouse vocalist, saying, "We're very different, and I feel like the constant comparisons might piss her off. It just annoys me that people can't digest two pop stars singing really personal songs who don't look like normal pop stars."
The singer is also very "body-conscious," admitting, "Sometimes I'm really proud that I don't look like other pop stars. But there's also moments where I'm like, 'Ugh, I wish I had abs like Bieber.'"
Um, Sam, The Biebs probably wishes he had a voice like you.
Smith also said that his first heartache came when he professed his feelings to a popular kid, who replied saying he did not reciprocate.
"It makes me emotional, actually," Smith recalled. "He looked out for me for the rest of school. He just made sure that if anyone took the piss out of me, he would stick up for me. He could have made it hell for me, you know?"
How nice of him!
Smith is so, so adorbs. Check out more at RollingStone.com.
